IBM pulls X/Twitter ads as Elon Musk promotes anti-Semitic conspiracy| Trending Viral hub

Just a few hours later Elon Musk endorsed an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory Wednesday night, a new report Advertisements from major companies placed on pro-Nazi content were discovered on X, Musk’s platform, formerly known as Twitter.

As of Thursday night, one of those companies, IBM, officially suspended all advertising on X.

“IBM has zero tolerance for hate speech and discrimination and we have immediately suspended all advertising on X while we investigate this totally unacceptable situation,” IBM said in a statement to media outlets such as the Financial times and The edge.

On Wednesday, Musk responded to a user’s post that spread a antisemitic conspiracy theory which claims that Jews are replacing whites with immigrants from minority groups.

“You have told the real truth.” answered Musk in a post that now has almost 6 million views about X.

In later publicationsMusk doubled down and explicitly named organizations like the ADL, which he accused of refusing to “criticize the minority groups that are its main threat.”

Musk’s hand-picked CEO of X, Linda Yaccarino, appeared to address criticism of Musk’s posts in a post of her own Thursday afternoon.

The report found that ads from companies like IBM, Apple, Oracle, Xfinity and Bravo were running with content promoting Nazis and sharing positive messages about Hitler. As mentioned above, IBM already announced that it would pause its advertising campaigns on the platform.

It should be noted that this is not the first time this has happened. Previously Mashable reported in a Media Matters study from just a few months ago that found ads from companies like Amazon, FIFA, Samsung, MLB, Sports Illustrated and Adobe showing alongside pro-Hitler and pro-Nazi content on X.
