Julia Garner will be Shalla-Bal Silver Surfer| Trending Viral hub

Emmy and Golden Globe winner Julia Garner joins Marvel”The Fantastic Four” as Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer from the Marvel comics.

She joins Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka The Thing). .

Matt Shakman (“WandaVision,” “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”) will direct “Fantastic Four,” from a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer and Eric Pearson. Production on the film will begin this summer and its release is scheduled for July 25, 2025.

Silver Surfer was previously played by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne in 2007’s “Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.”

Garner played Ruth Langmore on “Ozark” alongside Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, winning three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for her work on the series. Other television credits include “The Americans,” “Dirty John” and “Inventing Anna,” for which she earned another Emmy and Golden Globe nomination.

In film, Garner earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for her role in Kitty Green’s “The Assistant.” Last year, the pair teamed up again for “The Royal Hotel,” which Garner also produced through her Alma Margo production company. She will next star in Leigh Whannell’s “Wolf Man” alongside Christopher Abbott, and the psychological thriller “Apartment 7A” from Paramount and producer John Krasinski.

Garner is represented by UTA and LBI Entertainment.
