“9-1-1: Lone Star“Season 5 will not return Fox until autumn 2024, Variety Has confirmed.
According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the fifth season of the spin-off series will consist of 12 episodes. Fox will use “Lone Star,” its top-rated drama, to launch its new shows “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” which were commissioned earlier this year but have not yet begun production.
It is the latest production affected by the strikes of writers and actors that paralyzed Hollywood for much of the year. As shows struggle to get back on track now that both strikes have been resolved, several series are being pushed back to later dates. More recent, CBS announced premiere dates for several of its scripted shows by midseason, while others will also be delayed to next fall. Those shows will also have abbreviated presentations, such as “Lone Star.”
But fans of Rob Lowe, who leads the cast of “Lone Star,” can expect to see him again on Fox on Jan. 2 when the network premieres the new game show “The Floor,” of which he is the host.
More to come…
