Lunar New Year Celebration at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Chicago – Chicago Tribune| Trending Viral hub

For more than two decades, St. Mother Teresa Parish of Calcutta has combined elements of Chinese New Year cultural customs before and during the celebratory Mass. This year’s Lunar New Year celebration, the Year of the Dragon, began outside the church with the lighting of firecrackers and inside, parishioners and guests participated in symbolic moments before the Mass, including a lion dance in the church halls with cultural music and students from St. Therese Chinese Catholic School performing drum dances.
