Formula One driver Max Verstappen is having one of the most dominant seasons of any athlete in any sport. And he’s boring.
The Dutch driver has won 17 of the 20 races held so far this season, has taken the championship and will soon move into third place in the all-time F1 victory rankings. Although he gets headlines for his wins, the race highlights barely highlight him. He usually finishes near the top in qualifying competitions, which establish the racing order. Once the starting lights flash, the 26-year-old Verstappen quickly takes the lead and steadily advances, rarely facing a serious challenge for the rest of the race. He must be tired of sprayed champagne by now.
