Minnie Driver Says ‘Hard Rain’ Producers Wanted Her Nipples to Show| Trending Viral hub

minnie driver said during a recent interview on Jameela Jamil Podcast “I weigh” that the producers about their 1998 disaster movie “Strong rain” allegedly told her not to wear a wetsuit while filming with rain machines because “they wanted to see my nipples” (via Entertainment Weekly). The film, directed by Mikael Salomon, was released a year after Driver’s breakthrough in “Good Will Hunting,” which earned him an Oscar nomination. Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater headlined “Hard Rain.”

“It’s set during this massive storm, there were huge rain machines. We shot crazy hours. It was difficult,” Driver told Jamil. “Everyone else could wear a wetsuit under the costume, and the producers told me I couldn’t because they wanted to see my nipples, and there was no point in having a wet shirt if you couldn’t have it. what was underneath.”

Driver said she declined the request, but was made to feel “like an idiot” and didn’t “understand that this is what’s going on.”

“I remember saying this is wrong. “I remember calling my agent,” Driver added. “Then I remember it was like, wow, people weren’t talking to me on set. I was very punished for it. It was leaked to the press that I called and complained about the conditions, but it was like there was nothing to complain about and I was just complaining. It’s this gaslighting. Media lighting supported by the environment you are in. Then you turn on yourself and think, ‘It’s my fault for saying something, you stupid loudmouth.’ You should have shut up.’”

Driver did not name any of the producers by name. The film’s credited producers, Ian Bryce, Mark Gordon and Gary Levinsohn, did not return. VarietyRequest for comments.

“Hard Rain” costume designer Kathleen Detoro said. Variety that “full wetsuits and pieces were supplied to the entire cast and crew,” including “tops, bottoms and booties” and that “no expense was spared to keep the actors and crew as dry as possible in a aquatic action movie.”

“The producers never gave me those instructions,” he wrote in an email. “Actors don’t like to wear wetsuits under their clothes. Very uncomfortable. Custom-made wetsuits from Body Glove were purchased for all actors and crew. The actors received a complete wetsuit: short wetsuit, tops, pants and booties. It is up to the actor to decide which parts he will use or not.”

Variety has reached out to Driver’s representatives for additional comment.

“Hard Rain” focused on a group’s mission to stop a gang from carrying out a robbery during a catastrophic storm. The cast also included Ed Asner, Richard Dysart and Betty White. The film was a box office failure, grossing just $20 million worldwide on an estimated production budget of $70 million.
