Angela Bassett He did what he did at this year’s Golden Globe Awards! He Damsel Actress, 65, killed on the red carpet while arriving at the annual awards ceremony. As always, she looked absolutely ethereal in her long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder black dress.

As presenter of this year’s ceremony, Angela accompanied Michelle Yeoh, Will Ferrell, Amanda Seyfried and Jorge Lopez to present trophies to the winners.

Last year, Angela won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As she gave “thank you” to the cast and crew of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Angela paid tribute to the late actor. Chadwick Bosemanwho played King T’Challa/Black Panther until he died in 2020 at the age of 43.

“Crying may come in the afternoon, but joy comes in the morning,” he said. “We embarked on this journey together with love. We cry, we love, we heal. We were surrounded every day by the light and spirit of Chadwick Boseman. We are happy to know that with this historic Black Panther series, it’s part of his legacy that he helped lead us to. “We show the world what united black leadership looks like beyond, behind and in front of the camera.”

In addition to thanking Marvel fans, Angela also recalled the time when she won the 1994 award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in What does love have to do with that?.

“On January 22, 1994, I stood on this stage and accepted the Golden Globe for What does love have to do with that?. The late Toni Morrison said, ‘Your life is already a miracle of chance waiting for you to order its destiny,’” Angela said. “For destiny to manifest, I believe it requires courage to have faith, it requires patience, and it requires a true sense of self.”

She continued: “By the grace of God I am here. I am here grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press for granting me this honor along with Wakanda forever. Grateful for my incredible team who, every day, each and every one of them works with me, by my side and on my behalf every day. Grateful to my family: Courtney B. Vance, Bronwyn and Slater, I love you from the bottom of my heart. My mother always said: ‘Good things come to those who pray.’ “I see the truth in that every day as we welcome each new day as a family.”
