Sales, production and finance team. Images of the protagonist has strengthened its marketing and sales divisions with a series of promotions and new hires.
Janina Vilsmaier, who previously worked at Hanway before joining Protagonist in 2020, has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and distribution. Former Netflix and Studiocanal executive Mounia Wissinger, who joined the company in 2018, has been promoted to senior vice president of global advertising and marketing. Vilsmaier will lead the sales division, overseeing both first edition and library sales activities, and will work in partnership with Wissinger to strategize the global launch of Protagonist titles. Wissinger will lead the marketing and publicity team, including overseeing the festival’s strategy for Protagonist’s slate of films. Both will report directly to commercial director George Hamilton.
Former Arclight Films senior executive Lina Marrone, who initially joined Protagonist as maternity cover, will remain with the company, taking on the permanent role of head of sales and reporting to Vilsmaier.
Alexandra da Silva will once again manage first edition titles in key markets, including Asia, while Isabel Ivars returns to handle second edition sales. Max Mepsted joins to provide additional support to the sales team. Leni Jaeger has been promoted to marketing, festivals and publicity coordinator, and Connor Day has been hired as marketing, distribution and publicity coordinator, with both reporting to Wissinger.

The lead represents the Sundance and Berlin titles “The Outrun,” starring Saoirse Ronan and Paapa Essiedu, and “Sasquatch Sunset,” starring Riley Keough and Jesse Eisenberg.
