Two people injured when training plane crashes near village in Pune

A training plane belonging to a private aviation academy crashed near a village in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday morning, injuring a trainee pilot and an instructor on board the plane, police said.

The plane crashed near Gojubavi village near Baramati taluka around 8 am, they said.

“A training aircraft, belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy, crashed near Gojubavi village. A trainee pilot and an instructor sustained injuries in the accident. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital,” he said. Senior Inspector of Baramati Police Station Prabhakar More.

“The cause of the accident is not yet known. We are conducting an investigation into the incident,” he said.

This is the second such incident involving a private aviation academy aircraft in four days.

On Thursday afternoon, a training plane of the academy crashed near Kaftal village in Baramati taluka, injuring the pilot, according to police.
