It’s not always easy to know which movies are hitting theaters each week, especially since the Hollywood strikes caused many changes to release dates. With the WGA strike resolved and awards season heating up, there are more dramas and prestige productions in theaters in the coming months. October’s terrifying releases have given way to November’s spooky “Thanksgiving” horror movie, while November and December are packed with family-friendly and crowd-pleasing holiday movies.
“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” hits theaters this week and serves as a prequel to the other installments in the franchise, starring Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth and Hunter Schafer. For a family-friendly option, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return in “Trolls Band Together,” along with franchise newcomers Camila Cabello and Troye Sivan. Also see the limited releases of “Saltburn,” starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi and Rosamund Pike, and “May Dec,” with Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore and Charles Melton, ahead of their release on Netflix. Next week, Joaquin Phoenix will hit the big screen as the lead role in “Napoleon.”
Come back every week for the latest theatrical releases, from big-budget releases to niche indie titles.
