He solar eclipse 2024 It’s today, and if you’re like me, you’re curious what time… specifically — the long-awaited celestial event will pass by your location.

The best app for solar eclipse 2024
I’ve downloaded a few solar eclipse apps, but my favorite is SolarEclipseGuide.
Thanks to this application I can see the exact time of appearance of the solar eclipse according to my location. For example, according to SolarEclipseGuide, I’ll see the moon begin to show its shadowy figure around 2:19 pm ET and cover the sun at its maximum at 3:23 pm, give or take a few minutes.
The moon starts to rise a little after 2 pm ET for me.

The app not only shows me the exact time of the solar eclipse based on my location, but also offers a demonstration of as The solar eclipse will be seen from my point of view.
According to the “SolarEclipseGuide” app, this is what the solar eclipse will look like for me based on my location.

This allows me to see what exactly Mashable’s Mark Kaufman, our resident science and space expert, means when he says I’ll only be able to see a “partial eclipse.”
Enjoy the celestial spectacle, but be careful.
The solar eclipse is a beautiful spectacle that doesn’t happen very often. (As Kaufman explained, it is a rare occurrence). As such, you may be tempted to take out your phone and take a photo of it. However, it is not a good idea to take a Image of the solar eclipse with your phone. (unless you are a professional photographer and have the right filters for it).
And if you plan to go out to witness the solar eclipse, be sure to wear NASA approved glasses so you don’t run the risk of damaging your eyesight.
Now that you know the safety basics and probably know when (exactly) you’ll be able to witness the rare solar eclipse, enjoy the show.
