LAUNCH
Canal+ launches in the Netherlands and offers a combination of live TV and streaming on a single platform.
Its offer will include ESPN, originals such as “The Brigade”, access to titles from Viaplay, Lionsgate and Fremantle and more than 10,000 international films and series from SPI International, among others.
Customers of Dutch telecoms operator Vodafone Ziggo will also have access to Canal+ after the two companies have reached an agreement.
It will be distributed through the M7 subsidiary, which will be renamed Canal+ from January 29.
“I am very pleased with the launch of our platform in the Netherlands, which will help us further strengthen Canal+’s position in the European market,” said Canal+ International CEO Jacques du Puy. “It is a dynamic market that offers us new opportunities.
Canal+ Group, owner of Studiocanal and SPI International, operates in more than 50 countries, including recently launching in Austria and Slovakia, and has more than 25 million subscribers across Europe, Africa and Asia.
