Zach galifianakis has been chosen for season 4 of Hulu‘s”Only murders in the building” Variety has learned.
Like recently announced cast member Kumail Nanjiani, Galifianakis’ role in the mystery comedy series is currently being kept under wraps. However, a person with knowledge of the situation can confirm that his character is “integral to the twists and turns of this season’s investigation.”
The three protagonists of the series continue to be Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as real crime-obsessed neighbors who get caught up in real cases. Other new faces in season 4 include Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Molly Shannon. Meryl Streep, who first appeared in season 3, will also reprise her role. Little is known about the upcoming season other than the fact that the mystery-solving trio will take a trip to Los Angeles before returning to their native New York.
Galifianakis is well known for starring in “The Hangover” trilogy, in which he plays Alan in the “wolf pack” made up of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha. He also starred in the Apple TV+ movie “The Beanie Bubble” with Elizabeth Banks and Sarah Snook. He earned an Emmy nomination for the series “Baskets” and appeared in the films “Ron’s Gone Wrong,” “A Wrinkle in Time” and “Birdman,” among many others. His comedy show “Between Two Ferns,” in which he interviews public figures, has also been adapted into a film. He is repped by UTA and managed by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
Martin and John Hoffman are the co-creators of “Only Murders in the Building.” They also serve as executive producers alongside Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. 20th Television produces the series.
