It is difficult to monitor your company property at all times. But with a total of 606,282 crimes against businesses in England and Wales happening every yearIt’s easy to understand why you want eyes and ears on everything.

Have a comprehensive and reliable security system for your business Not only does it prevent you from being a victim of crime, but it also improves your business performance. Therefore, when it comes to choosing your company’s security technology, you should never have to compromise.

Rather, you deserve a range of surveillance cameras, access control, intercoms and audio systems designed to withstand a wide range of extreme conditions and situations. Whatever the environment, you should always feel safe and be able to trust your security systems.

That’s what Axis Communications has built its products for since 1984. As part of the Canon Group, Axis enables a smarter, safer world by creating solutions to improve security and business performance. Their systems are designed to propel us forward, taking enterprise security to a whole new level.

They create security technology that withstands a variety of challenging environments. Whether it’s a wildfire, flood, or all types of extreme environments, Axis Communications equipment is designed to persevere and continue to protect your people, your property, and your business performance.

Using network video technology, they film every moment for you to see, the good and the bad, in crystal-clear image quality that never wavers, even in extreme weather conditions.

And to really put this technology to the test, Axis has demonstrated its high imaging capabilities and the robustness of its equipment in a fun and unexpected way: filming a hockey game from below the ice. Yes really.

The impossible angle

Ice hockey fans will know that there is one angle of the game that you will never be able to see: the bottom. Never before has it been possible to film from this perspective. After all, there’s a pretty heavy block of ice (40mm thick) you have to deal with in order to make it happen.

But Axis Communications modular cameras are literally game-changers.

Since ice hockey is such a lively game with bold colors, fast movements and intense gameplay, Axis knew it would be a real challenge to test the quality of their products, but would result in some exciting gameplay footage.

However, it was not an easy task. In order to film a hockey game from beneath the rink, the Axis team knew that the equipment would have to be perfectly waterproof and not only robust enough to withstand a large amount of ice that would weigh it down, but also the players They would be skating right on top. That too.

Although the experiment posed clear difficulties, the potential results were worth it, so the team got to work. With this innovative technology made to withstand any climate, the modular cameras from Axis Communications should be able to sit inside the rink, encased in ice, and still Record game footage from all angles.

So they tried it. But setting up the camera under a hockey rink took a lot of work. Axis Communications engineers conducted the experiment together with an ice hockey team and a film crew.

A modular setup was chosen for the experiment: an AXIS F2135-RE fisheye sensor was frozen in the ice along with a cable connecting it to the AXIS F9114 main unit off the runway, which provided power to the camera, as well as process the video signal. coming out of the sensor.

Despite the small size of the sensor, it still did not fit under the surface of the ice. The camera was then mounted horizontally, leaving enough room for it to be completely covered by the ice, and a mirror was used to reflect the action on the ice back to the camera. To keep everything in place during the freezing process, a 3D printed template was created and the correct lens setting was selected before freezing the camera on a completely solid block of ice, where players would crash into each other on top.

Content captured without compromise

Would the camera still operate efficiently and function despite these extreme conditions and difficulties in placing it under the ice? It was a novel but difficult experiment to test the camera’s capabilities, but it worked brilliantly: capturing every hit of the puck, every cut of the player’s boots crunching against the ice, and every slide of the player’s faces sliding against the ice afterward. of the injury. Everything you normally miss, immortalized on film.

So the camera could continue to do its job, and a stellar camera, capturing hockey from all angles, showed its true resilience and adaptability.

The end result: a vibrant and unique capture of a very intense game that offers a unique viewing experience for hockey fans.

This type of imaginative and innovative technology is behind all Axis security cameras, creating a safer and smarter world. If Axis Communications cameras can deliver excellent, high-quality images that show every detail of a scene while encased in thick ice, they can certainly provide the security measures you need for your properties.

Check one worry off the list for your business by setting up a security system that not only withstands tough situations but also offers concise and versatile solutions. Axis Communications constantly uses sight and sound combined with detailed analytics and intelligence to continually improve the security systems offered and keep businesses safe everywhere.

Whether you’re guarding a business susceptible to extreme weather conditions or filming a hockey game from every angle, Axis cameras will capture every moment without fail, no matter what interruptions you may face.
