The Dark Side emerges in the first trailer of the new Star Wars series The acolyte.
Created by Russian doll‘s Leslye Promontory, The acolyte marks our first live-action introduction to the High Republic Era, a time of peace 100 years before the Star Wars prequels take place. However, that peace is under attack by dark forces, leaving dead Jedi in their wake. A respected Jedi Master (Squid Game‘s Lee Jung-jae) investigates the murder spree, only to come face to face with a dangerous warrior from his past (Bodies Bodies Bodies‘ PowerStenberg).
The first trailer of The acolyte Otherwise, it is poor in plot details. But we are blessed by scenes of Matrix‘s Carrie-Anne Moss in full Jedi mode, promises of political intrigue and a very foreboding look at what may be one of the first red lightsabers.
The first two episodes of The acolyte premieres June 4 on Disney+.
