A man was seriously injured overnight while walking in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
The man was walking around 1:10 a.m. in the 8000 block of South Drexel Avenue when someone opened fire, hitting him in the face. He was taken to UChicago Medicine, where he was in critical condition, police said.
No one was arrested and detectives were investigating.
